Report: Sports Facilities at Westfield School
Introduction The aim of this report is to describe the school's sports facilities, explain how students use them and suggest improvements. It is based on a survey of 60 students.1
Current use The sports hall is clearly popular. According to the survey, 70% of students use it at least once a week, mainly for basketball and the lunchtime fitness club.2 By contrast, the outdoor courts are almost empty from November to March because they have no lighting and become wet and slippery.
Problems A common complaint was the condition of the changing rooms. Students described the showers as cold and the lockers as broken. Several students also said that there are too few after-school clubs, so the hall is often closed after 4 pm.
Recommendations It is recommended that the changing rooms are renovated as a priority, since this affects every student who does sport.3 The school should also consider installing lights on one outdoor court so that it can be used in winter. Finally, two new clubs, such as volleyball and climbing, could be run by older students with a teacher.
Conclusion If these changes are made, more students are likely to stay active throughout the year.
- Aim + source of information.
- Numbers turned into a sentence, not copied as a list.
- Recommendation + reason.
