Writing projects for the classroom
Multi-lesson projects that end in a real product: a magazine, a guide, a debate, a book for younger readers.
- A Visitor's Guide to Our Town Students create a short guidebook for young visitors, practising descriptions, recommendations and practical information.
- A Picture Book for Younger Readers Students write and illustrate a short picture book for younger children learning English, focusing on clear, simple storytelling.
- The Class Magazine Students plan, write, edit and publish a real class magazine with articles, reviews, interviews and advice columns.
- Letters to My Future Self Students write a sealed letter to themselves to open at the end of the year: reflective writing that also creates a record of progress.
- From Debate to Essay A structured class debate generates arguments and language, which students then turn into a well-organised opinion essay.
- Newsroom Day: Writing to a Deadline The class becomes a newsroom. Teams receive "breaking news" every 20 minutes and must produce short, accurate news articles to a deadline.
